Project Description:
The project scope was a 15,000 square foot renovation of the existing library facilities ground floor. The Learning Commons is the most striking feature of the renovation, replacing the former reference room with open spaces that invite collaborative work and study. A number of niches throughout the building, each housing one to six students and movable furniture, allows users to create meeting spaces and reconfigure library zones. Classroom space provides computer connectivity for 32 students and can also be modified for speakers, lectures, or small study groups.
