Project Description:

The project scope was a complete renovation of 3rd and 4th floors to provide executive office and meeting space that affected approximately 160,000 square feet of the existing building .  This Project was a fast track total replacement of one half of the total building heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in a University of Texas teaching facility.  This project included disconnecting relocating, re-configuring and extending a number of the building central utility production and distribution systems to accommodate new building loads and equipment configurations.

The final building configuration consisted of a complete new single zone variable volume air distribution system serving the top two floors of the building and the existing dual duct system serving the lower 3 floors in its original configuration. The existing mechanical systems were modified to meet new building demand loads and equipment configurations including N+1 redundancy.  A complete DDC instrumentation and controls package was designed and produced for the building including detailed control diagrams, sequence of operations and points list.  A complete construction sequence was created to facilitate the construction work while maintaining the building occupancy.
