The project includes outdoor restrooms, storage space, HVAC system modifications and equipment, modifications to existing power distribution, existing plumbing systems and existing fire alarm and fire-suppression systems.
Historic Building: The 1916 building was constructed as a result of the 1915 bond package and was merged with Mathews Elementary in 1965 as part of the desegregation of Austin’s public schools. The school was named for Dr. William John Mathews, who was born in Ireland and came to Austin in 1876.
