Project Description:

The project scope is Design/Build for a new affordable housing complex that includes 7-stories and 942 beds. The housing complex is complete student housing community with full-time staff, lounge spaces for activities, shared courtyards with benches and tables, student study spaces and security. The project includes utility upgrades and site planning that includes stormwater drainage analysis and stormwater management design, erosion & sediment control, paving and grading, offsite campus wastewater design and analysis, extension of the utilities (domestic water & wastewater, fire, thermal, electrical, communications, and storm) to support the new housing complex. The project includes the design of retaining walls as the perimeter of a detention pond and for other landscaping purpose. The retaining walls are 550ft in total length, with a maximum retained soil height of 18ft. The retaining walls are supported on drilled piers embedded in limestone. The detailed design of the retaining walls require collaboration and adjustment with existing domestic water, wastewater and stormwater utility pipes and different field conditions.
