3M Central Utility Plant Modifications – Austin, Texas
Scope of work was for a 40,000 GSF project that included the removal of a steam turbine from a combined heat and power plant and the addition of multiple gas fired boilers to serve the campus heating load. Also included in the project is the removal and replacement of a 1,500 Ton centrifugal chiller to serve the campus chilled water load. The campus and plant automation system was studied and a design was developed to integrate all plant equipment, existing controls protocols and future building systems into a complete campus controls architecture.
