Austin Energy – ACC Highland Mall Chiller Plant – Austin, Texas
Our team provided controls engineering and construction administration services for the new central utility plant which provides chilled water generation to support the ACC Highland Campus buildout. The design included the installation of a new 9,000 SF building that houses three 1,500-ton water chillers, a four-cell cooling tower system, primary and condenser water pumps, electrical switchgear, and industrial controls and instrumentation. The design incorporated a thermal energy storage tank and will seamlessly accommodate future additions of a fourth chiller and fifth cooling tower cell. The controls design included a state of the art Allen Bradley Process Automation Control System (PACS), utilizing a modular functional operating group approach based on the critical mission concept design.
