Project Description:

The scope of work was to replace an existing 14,000 ton cooling tower and condenser water distribution system. The cooling tower replacement was planned and designed to be constructed in phases to maintain the plant in operation throughout the construction process. The tower replacement project included an in depth review of the existing SCADA and PLC system to develop a growth plan for the plant and complement the overall control system design.

The Civil Engineering scope includes erosion & sediment controls and construction access for all phases of construction.; demolition of existing concrete slabs, sidewalks, footings, and asphalt pavement; construction of new slab-on-grade concrete, retaining walls, handrails, asphalt replacement and overlay, and re-grading. Work will also consist of modifications to underground storm, sanitary sewer and water lines. Utility work will include demolition of existing underground piping, installation of underground lines, concrete manhole structure, valves, and fittings.
