SAISD Tynan Early Childhood Development Center – Chiller Replacement – San Antonio, Texas

Owner: San Antonio ISD
Contact Person: Sylvia Pena
Date Completed: August 2018
Construction Cost: $350,000
Project Description:

The project was initiated to replace an aging 125 ton air-cooled chiller, including the associated pumps and controls. Upon evaluating the operation of the existing 2-pipe system and all HVAC equipment, we worked with the owner to expand the scope as needed so that the systems would function properly. In addition to replacing the air-cooled chiller and primary and secondary chilled water pumps, the scope included replacing the heating water pump, VFDs, chilled water and heating water control valves, and the DDC controller for the Kitchen Air Handling Unit. Sequences were rewritten to ensure proper switchover from heating to cooling operation. This project is part of the SAISD IDIQ Contract.
