Project included a full assessment phase and then major renovations of a total of 14 existing government office buildings/facilities to address existing building code violations, system deficiencies, and expired equipment.
The project began with an assessment of each building’s fire-suppression and fire alarm systems. Guerra then produced design documents and construction administration services to implement the approved recommendations from the study. It included a new fire-sprinkler and standpipe system throughout a high-rise building that before was unsprinklered. It also included complete fire alarm system replacements in four of the buildings and miscellaneous fire alarm and fire-sprinkler work in most of the others. Buildings included: Brown Heatly Building, Department of State Health Services Tower, Park 35 Buildings, Robert E. Johnson State Office Building, William P. Clements State Office Building, William P. Hobby State Office Building Tower I, II, III, Department of State Assistive Rehabilitation Services Building, Thomas Jefferson Rusk State Office Building.
