Project Description:

The New Courts Facility is located at 1700 Guadalupe Street within the Guadalupe transit corridor with ample pedestrian access. The building is 12 floors plus a roof level and penthouse and 4 levels of parking below grade. The site plan includes an outdoor plaza and gathering space that naturally separates public access from secured access. There are 25 courtrooms in the building of various size, jury, and holding requirements. The new courthouse provides a first floor with major public entry, lobby, and various amenities, including a large conference/classroom and media facility. Once inside the building, the courthouse maintains separate circulation for the public, judges, and detainees. Separate access is maintained both horizontally, as well as vertically through the elevator system. Additional specialized spaces will include Judges Chambers, July Deliberation Rooms, Law Library. Also included are a Cafeteria and Kitchen, Large Conferences Rooms, Classrooms, Exercise Rooms and Child Drop Off and Waiting areas.
