Project Description:

Jose I. Guerra, Inc. was the engineer-of-record for the University Federal Credit Union – Kyle IFC Branch. We were in charge of the design of all structures in the project, including the one-story branch facility and the 5-lane drive-through structures.

The branch facility was a 4,000 sf steel-framed structure. Rectangular hollow steel sections were used in conjunction with steel rod braces to produce a clean, minimal structures that could be readily concealed in the facade of the building. Galvanized roof metal deck and steel bar joists were used to create an economical and efficient roof structural system. The steel structures sat on a slab on grade with perimeter grade beams supported by select fill. The building featured full height glazing at the corners and various unique canopy configurations all around the buildings. With close collaboration with the Architect, our office developed the structural steel details of all the exposed structural elements that became a key identity of the project. With our expertise in design collaboration with the Architect, other engineering disciplines and the general contractor, Jose I. Guerra, Inc. has successfully added significant value to the project team and the facility.
