University of Texas – Gregory Gym Climbing Wall – Austin, Texas
Complete renovation of the existing 1,600 square foot climbing facility in Gregory Gym to produce a unique, state of the art rock climbing facility, compliant with the Climbing Wall Association (CWA) standards.
Jose I. Guerra, Inc. provided a initial analysis of the existing building and structure in order to safely support the climbing wall installation. The new facility includes a 2,600 square foot competitive grade bouldering climbing wall that offers crack and face climbing including overhangs and vertical slab features, arêtes, and dihedrals.
This project represents a variety of design elements that we would expect to encountered in a typical rotation list assignment. Mechanical duct distribution modifications, mechanical system rezoning, electrical power and lighting system renovations, fire sprinkler system modifications and cross discipline coordination above ceiling.
Jose I. Guerra provided complete structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering design and construction administration services.
