Project Description:

The new Engineering Building was needed in order to provide for more efficient operation of the current Bachelor’s Degree programs in mechanical and petroleum engineering and allow space for the Industrial Technology program expansion. The project called for the design and construction of an 80,000 gross square foot (48,000 assignable square foot) Engineering Building on UTPB’s Midland Campus. The Engineering Building includes space for classrooms, instructional labs, research endeavors, administrative offices and student support services. The Engineering Building is included in the 2012 Campus Master Plan, and was included in the 2015 Legislation Tuition Revenue Bond (TRB) funding.

Jose I. Guerra, Inc. is provided complete mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering design and construction administration services.

 

Awards / Recognition:

Project achieved LEED Certification.
